Very fine lantern clock made about 1690 by a scarce maker, John Michell of Chardstock (formerly in Dorset county but now in Somerset), signed 'J. Michell Chardstock fec', originally verge pendulum converted later to anchor escapement, was probably untouched in two centuries, now cleaned by us, very rare type with matted centre, pictured after restoration and before.
